"Three Guys From Miami Cook Cuban" and "Three Guys From Miami Celebrate Cuban"
Espo's Spanish Cafeteria
Jorge: We've never seen a Cuban restaurant full of penguins before! But that's what you get at Espo's, a quaint little cafeteria-style restaurant that is short on ambiance, but long on value.

Glenn: We originally heard of this place from a reader who said they had the best Cuban sandwiches in Tampa, and the sandwiches are very good. The quality of the bread is a big factor -- the Tampa bakers really do something great with Cuban bread.

Jorge: Nobody comes here for an extravagant dining experience. If you don't mind eating off of paper plates, you can take advantage of some great prices at dinner and even cheaper lunch specials -- served each day until 2:00 p.m.

Glenn: Espo's tries to be both a Spanish and Cuban restaurant, but the menu leans heavily to Cuban food. Highlights include a well-prepared arroz con pollo and a very tender boliche stuffed with mild Spanish chorizo.

Raúl: The roast chicken is excellent -- full of a rich garlic-citrus flavor.

Jorge: And the ropa vieja is also quite good. You get a large serving of shredded beef in a tangy sauce of tomatoes and peppers.

Glenn: Everything tastes like it was made to order -- no food-killing steam tables are in evidence here. The service is good, your order comes up quickly, and if you don't mind a few penguins looking over your shoulder, you're in for a very reasonably priced Cuban meal.
