Raúl: They certainly have one of the largest menus we've seen anywhere.
Glenn: From a good selection of tapas (Spanish appetizers) in the Arriba room upstairs to a large selection of desserts, Havana Café has it all!
Jorge: With a strong local Mexican population in the area, it's no surprise that several dishes have a distinct Mexican influence.
Glenn: However, most dishes remain true to their Cuban origins, so most Cuban food fanatics won't leave disappointed.
Jorge: Start out your meal with an appetizer. Perfectly made yuca frita (French fried yuca) is always a delight to discover on any menu. Here they're called "Calypso Chips."
Glenn: We're not sure what these chips have to do with West Indies music, but they do come with a very delicious black bean salsa for dipping -- a very nice addition.
Raúl: The Cuban-style tamales are also very good here. Not hot and spicy like a Mexican tamal, but rich with the flavors of corn, onion, garlic and green pepper.
Jorge: The mariscos con salsa verde is a nice dish packed with seafood -- shrimp, mussels, clams, lobster, and a lot of calamari.
Raúl: The lechón asado here is called Paradise Pulled Pork -- but it's basically the same tender roast pork heavily flavored with citrus and garlic.
Glenn: They also do a nice dish with two plump chicken breasts, marinated in mojo, they are very tender and juicy.
Jorge: Can't make up your mind? Try the dinner sampler for a taste of several Cuban classics.
Glenn: Whatever you order, the side of black beans and rice is just about as good as we've seen anywhere.
Raúl: Be sure to save some room for dessert, they have several very good choices.
Glenn: Café Havana also has a second, more spacious location called the Havana Patio Café in nearby Scottsdale.
Jorge: As the name suggests the big attraction here is outdoor dining.
