Little Havana Cafe
Glenn: In the heart of Tex-Mex country, it's easy for a restaurant to stray into the more predominant cuisine.

Jorge: The Little Havana Café, however, sticks to tried and true Cuban classics.

Raúl: The only Mexican item on the menu is beer.

Glenn: This dedication to all things Cuban has created a very loyal following for this atmospheric restaurant.

Jorge: The Little Havana Cafe has excellent sandwiches and a basic menu of Cuban favorites from picadillo to vaca frita.

Raúl: Start your meal with a couple of Cuban tamales. Those local Texans who have grown up eating Mexican tamales may be in for a surprise.

Jorge: You need to expand your horizons a bit and learn to eat and enjoy the more subtle and complex flavors of this great tamal.

Glenn: The camarones enchilados are five good size shrimp in a sauce of onions, peppers, and tomatoes. Vaca frita is shredded beef, fried until the edges are crispy.

Jorge; Or if you prefer a softer shredded beef, the ropa vieja is moist and flavorful in a traditional tomato-based sauce.

Raúl: Miami Cubans would shake their heads at the idea of paying $1.20 for a Cuban coffee.

Jorge: Some of our favorite places in the real Little Havana sell the same thing for 60 cents!

Glenn: The batidos are a better bargain with flavors like mamey, plátano, trigo, guanábana, mango and fruta bomba just to name a few.
