Jorge: You won't find any canned beans or frozen tostones at this place!
Raúl: This is a very pretty restaurant, despite the strip mall location.
Jorge: It's not overly fancy -- just a very clean modern look.
Raúl: The walls are covered with memorabilia from Cuba.
Glenn: Cafe Piquet turns out some delicious appetizers from the fryer. The papa rellenas, croquetas, and several varieties of empanadas are highlights.
Raúl: The croquetas are very good, very similar to the ones we like best in Miami.
Glenn: The yuca frita was beyond excellent -- just about the best we've ever had. The Yuca was cut in large meaty chunks and fried in hot oil until the outside was so crisp and crunchy, yum!
Raúl: The yuca frita was covered with mojo, although this version was mostly crushed garlic.

Jorge: Cafe Piquet offers a menu that includes several Cuban favorites with lunch and dinner specials providing nice bargains.
Glenn: Their menu is not overly large -- here they stick to several basic dishes.
Raúl: There were many places like this in Cuba, simple places that served a basic menu.

Glenn: One of our readers raved about the great picadillo here, and we have to admit that it stands right up there with some of the best we've ever had.
Jorge: Almost as good as our own!
Glenn: Cafe Pique does provide a lot of value for the money with Texas-sized portions.
Jorge: No one leaves here hungry. The masitas fritas and the ropa vieja are standouts.
Glenn: The masitas were very tender and juicy.
Raúl: If you like fish, this place serves up the best pargo entero frito in town. You get a very good sized fish cooked to perfection.
Glenn: Save room for one of the Cuban comfort food desserts. The cascos de guayaba y queso (here made with cream cheese) is a sweet treat to end your meal and a real palate cleanser!
Raúl: The arroz con leche is sweet and creamy.
